What hands are up against

What we’re building

More daylight. More defense.

Daylight on every drive, errand, coffee run, hike

Broad Spectrum SPF 30The minimum dermatologists recommend for daily wear.

Washed, sanitized, still dry.

Continuous washing, sanitizer, extreme temperatures, leaves hands dry, cracked and rough

Hydrating hand creamwith premium ingredients

Small enough to come along.

Most creams live in big tubes or tubs in a drawer: hard to reach, easy to forget about

Card-sized pump, made to carry

A note from the founder

My hands do the most. A decade in D.C. and NYC meant commutes, work trips, grocery hauls, and washing them like the subway was personally out to get me. Re-applying lotion? Non-negotiable. SPF? Guilty.

My face had a full routine. My hands had subway poles, coffee cups, tote straps, and a whole lot of daylight.

Then I moved to Texas. More steering wheel. More sunshine. The gap was impossible to ignore.

So I started making The Hand Card. Your new hand care ritual.

xo, Tor

Legal

Last updated: October 2026

Welcome to The Hand Card. These Legal Terms include our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Launch Gift Terms.

For questions, privacy requests, or support, contact us at hello@thehandcard.com.

What we collect

When you visit our website or join our waitlist, we may collect:

  • Your email address.
  • Information you choose to provide, such as scent preferences, survey responses, or other product feedback.
  • Device and website-use information, such as browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referral source, and interactions with our site.
  • Information collected through cookies or similar technologies, including analytics and advertising tools, where used.

We do not currently collect phone numbers or send text messages. If we add text messaging, we will ask for your separate consent first.

How we use information

We may use your information to:

  • Add you to The Hand Card waitlist and send launch updates, product news, surveys, and marketing emails.
  • Understand interest in product concepts, scents, packaging, and future offerings.
  • Operate, protect, improve, and measure our website and marketing.
  • Measure the performance of advertising campaigns and create or improve audiences for advertising, where applicable.
  • Respond to your requests and comply with applicable law.

How we share information

We may share personal information with service providers that help us operate our business, such as website hosting providers, email marketing providers, analytics providers, and advertising partners.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, sale, or transfer of business assets.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising uses may count as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under state privacy laws. See “U.S. state privacy rights” below.

Cookies and advertising

We may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to understand website activity, measure advertising, and show or improve relevant advertising. These providers may collect information through your browser or device when you interact with our website.

The tools we use:

  • TikTok Pixel (TikTok): measures our ads and helps show them to people who visited our site. Loads only if you allow advertising cookies.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta, for Instagram and Facebook ads): same purpose. Loads only if you allow advertising cookies.
  • Google Analytics (Google): counts visits and shows which pages are used. Loads only if you allow analytics cookies.
  • Klaviyo: stores your email address and sends our emails.
  • Netlify: hosts this website and keeps basic server logs, such as IP address.
  • Shopify: will run our store and checkout after launch.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings and through the ad and privacy settings offered by TikTok, Meta, and Google.

Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you agree. You can accept or reject them at any time through “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of this page. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of advertising cookies.

We may share your email address and website activity with advertising partners such as Meta and TikTok to show you relevant ads and measure campaigns, for example by matching your email address to an advertising audience. Under some state laws, this may be considered “sharing” personal information or “targeted advertising.”

To opt out, email hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Opt Out.” We will stop using your information for targeted advertising and will not include your email address in future advertising audiences.

U.S. state privacy rights

This section applies to residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with consumer privacy laws. For California residents, it is also our notice at collection.

What we collect and why.

  • Identifiers, such as email address and IP address: to run the waitlist, send emails, and measure and show ads.
  • Internet activity, such as pages viewed, clicks, referral source, and device and browser type: for analytics and advertising.
  • Preferences, such as scent picks and survey answers: to plan our products.

We collect this from you and from your browser or device. We do not collect sensitive personal information, such as precise location, government ID numbers, or health information. Retention periods are described under “Data retention and security.”

Who receives it. Website hosting (Netlify), email marketing (Klaviyo), analytics (Google), and advertising partners (TikTok and Meta).

Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. If you allow advertising cookies, TikTok and Meta may receive identifiers and website activity from our site. If we match your email address to an ad audience, they receive your email address in hashed form. California law may treat this as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and other state laws may treat it as “targeted advertising.” We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Your rights. Depending on your state, you may:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and get a copy.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising.

How to opt out. Turn off Advertising in “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of this page, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. To also keep your email address out of ad audiences, email hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Opt Out.”

How to make a request. Email hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and tell us your state and what you are asking for. We will confirm we received it within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you, and we may take up to 45 more days. We verify requests by matching the email address you write from to the one in our records. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for your signed permission and confirm your identity with you directly.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying with the subject line “Privacy Appeal” within 60 days. We will respond within 45 days. If you disagree with our decision, you may contact your state attorney general.

No discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service because you used your privacy rights.

Notice of financial incentive. The launch gift is not offered for an email address alone. To receive it, you must join our email waitlist by the deadline and also place one of the first 100 orders on launch day, as described in the Launch Gift Terms. Because joining the waitlist is one of the conditions, we describe it here. To join, you give us your email address and agree to receive marketing emails. We estimate the value of a waitlist signup to us as no more than the cost of the gift. You can stop taking part at any time by unsubscribing. If you unsubscribe before launch day, your order may not qualify for the gift.

Canadian residents

If you live in Canada, we send marketing emails only with your express consent, which you give by checking the box when you join. You can withdraw consent at any time. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and may be accessible to authorities there under U.S. law.

Your choices

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking it, or by emailing hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe.” We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may request to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or opt out of certain processing, including targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.”

We may need to verify your request before responding.

Data retention and security

We keep your email address and preferences until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so we do not contact you again. Website activity collected by analytics and advertising tools is kept according to those providers’ settings, generally no longer than 26 months. We may keep information longer when needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. However, no online transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Children

Our website and waitlist are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@thehandcard.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date.

Who we are

This website is operated by Varitor Holdings, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, under the brand name The Hand Card (“The Hand Card,” “we,” “us”).

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using this website, joining the waitlist, or participating in a promotion, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit information through it.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to join the waitlist or participate in a promotion. The waitlist is intended for residents of the United States and Canada.

Product development and concept imagery

The Hand Card is currently in development. Product images, descriptions, package renderings, scent names, product concepts, ingredients, formula details, SPF targets, claims, colors, features, pricing, availability, and launch timing are for informational and exploratory purposes only and may change.

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, a preorder, or a guarantee that any product shown will be produced or available in the form displayed.

We are pursuing a tested Broad Spectrum SPF 30 formula. Final formula, sunscreen claims, packaging, scents, and product details may vary.

No medical advice

Content on this website is for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, dermatological, or health advice, and it does not replace advice from a qualified health professional.

Intellectual property

The Hand Card name, logos, visual designs, graphics, text, product concepts, photographs, product renderings, website content, and other materials on this site are owned by, licensed to, or used with permission by The Hand Card and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, create derivative works from, or otherwise use site content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial viewing.

Other names, brands, and trademarks that may appear on this site belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.

Intellectual property concerns

We respect the intellectual property of others. If you believe anything on this site infringes your copyright, trademark, or other rights, email hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “IP Notice.” Please include your contact information, a description of the work or mark you believe is infringed, where it appears on our site, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.

We will review every notice promptly and, where appropriate, remove or change the material. Sending a notice does not mean we agree that infringement occurred, and we reserve all rights and defenses.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site; interfere with its operation or security; attempt unauthorized access; submit harmful code; use automated tools to scrape the site without permission; or use the site in violation of law.

Third-party links

This website may link to third-party websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, practices, or privacy policies.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Hand Card disclaims warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Hand Card and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the site.

Dispute resolution, arbitration, and class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.

Informal resolution. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at hello@thehandcard.com with a description of your concern. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days.

Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms, the website, the waitlist, or any promotion will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Any hearing will take place in Dallas County, Texas, or by video.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek relief in court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

Class-action and jury waiver. You and The Hand Card agree that claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person. You and The Hand Card waive any right to a jury trial.

Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms by emailing hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your name and email address. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Severability. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for any claim, that claim will proceed in court and not in arbitration. If the law where you live does not permit this section, including in certain Canadian provinces, it does not apply to you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that is not subject to arbitration will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

  • Readable text contrast and tap targets sized for phones.

Some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. If you have trouble using any part of it, email hello@thehandcard.com with the subject line “Accessibility” and tell us the page or feature. We will respond promptly and work to fix the issue or provide the information another way.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. Changes will not apply to disputes that arose before the change was posted.

The offer

The first 100 eligible orders placed through thehandcard.com on launch day will receive a complimentary launch gift selected by The Hand Card, shipped with the order. To qualify, the customer must also have joined The Hand Card email waitlist before the launch start time.

The launch date has not yet been set. We will email everyone on the waitlist at least 7 days before launch with the launch date, start time, and a description of the gift. Launch day begins at the start time stated in that email and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET the same day. The first 100 orders are determined by the order time recorded by our checkout system, and that record is final.

Only 100 gifts are available. The offer is subject to these Launch Gift Terms.

Eligibility and redemption

To qualify, you must:

  • Join the email waitlist using a valid email address before the launch start time stated in our launch email.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Place an order through thehandcard.com on launch day, using the same email address you used to join the waitlist. Any order is eligible.
  • Ship the eligible order to a U.S. address, unless we expressly state otherwise.

The gift is included automatically in the same shipment as your order; no code is needed. If your qualifying order arrives without the gift, contact us at hello@thehandcard.com within 14 days of delivery and include your order number.

Limits and exclusions

  • Limit one launch gift per person, email address, and eligible order.
  • The offer is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold.
  • Limited to the first 100 eligible orders.
  • If one of the first 100 orders is canceled, refunded, or found ineligible, we may, but are not required to, extend the gift to the next eligible order.
  • The offer cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts unless we say otherwise.
  • Returns, cancellations, fraudulent orders, or orders that do not meet the stated conditions may make the order ineligible for the gift.
  • We may substitute a gift of equal or greater retail value if the advertised gift becomes unavailable.

No purchase lottery

This is a promotional offer tied to an eligible purchase. It is not a sweepstakes, contest, raffle, or game of chance.

Changes or cancellation

We may modify, suspend, or end the offer if necessary due to product availability, technical issues, fraud, legal requirements, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Any changes will be posted on this page.
